Brights Zoo is a privately owned zoo. Therefore, the zoo does not receive state, local or federal funding of any kind. All admissions proceeds goes directly towards caring for the animals and upkeep of the zoo. This includes animal housing, appropriate diet, veterinary care, new exhibit and design for all maintenance of the facility.

- The black necked swan is the largest waterfowl native to South America.
- Both parents regularly carry the cygnets on their back while swimming.
- Swan eggs are the largest of any flighted bird.
- They have difficulty walking on land, since their legs are set so far back on their body.
