Beginning in 2008, we opened the gates for School Tours of our facility. This half-day excursion is designed to educate children of any grade level about pivotal issues concerning the support and welfare of animals everywhere. The education program is divided into four different areas of emphasis.

- largest and heaviest forest antelope
- is the only forest antelope that gathers in herds
- males have massive backswept horns while females have smaller, thinner and more parallel horns
- all bongos in captivity are from the isolated Aberdere Mountain portion of the species' range in central Kenya
- for years, many people native to the Bongos habitat believed that if they ate or touched a Bongo they would have spasms similar to epileptic seizures
