Brights Zoo is a privately owned zoo. Therefore, the zoo does not receive state, local or federal funding of any kind. All admissions proceeds goes directly towards caring for the animals and upkeep of the zoo. This includes animal housing, appropriate diet, veterinary care, new exhibit and design for all maintenance of the facility.

- Their pink plumage comes from the carotenoid pigments they consume as part of their diet.
- Both male and female adults, provide their young with a type of milk called crop milk.
- In order to fly, flamingos need to run a few paces to gather speed.
- Standing on one leg is the flamingo's most comfortable resting position.
- All flamingos feed with their bills upside-down.
