All admissions proceeds goes directly towards caring for the animals and upkeep of the zoo. This includes animal housing, appropriate diet, veterinary care, new exhibit and design for all maintenance of the facility.

There are semi-wild herds in Tunisia that are derived from recent reintroductions from European and U.S. zoos.

- horns are fairly fragile and prone to breaking due to being thin
- can raise body temperature up to 116 degrees Fahrenheit before perspiring to conserve water
- can go for 9-10 months without drinking water
