Brights Zoo is a privately owned zoo. Therefore, the zoo does not receive state, local or federal funding of any kind. All admissions proceeds goes directly towards caring for the animals and upkeep of the zoo. This includes animal housing, appropriate diet, veterinary care, new exhibit and design for all maintenance of the facility.

- their large, flat heads are covered with "warts," which are actually protective bumps
- a grouping of warthogs is called a "sounder"
- tusks are used for digging, for combat with other hogs, and in defense against predators
- prefer to lie in burrows
- can run at speeds up to 30 mph
