Beginning in 2008, we opened the gates for School Tours of our facility. This half-day excursion is designed to educate children of any grade level about pivotal issues concerning the support and welfare of animals everywhere. The education program is divided into four different areas of emphasis.

- Dutch settlers in South Africa named the animal "wildebeest", which means wild animal
- live in more densely packed herds than any other large mammal, except for humans
- calves can stand and run within 3-7 minutes after birth
- gnus sleep on the ground in rows
- in the Serengeti, animals make an annual migratory circle of 300 miles
- eighty percent of calves are born within a 2-3 week period creating a glut of young for predators and enabling more calves to survive
