Brights Zoo is a privately owned zoo. Therefore, the zoo does not receive state, local or federal funding of any kind. All admissions proceeds goes directly towards caring for the animals and upkeep of the zoo. This includes animal housing, appropriate diet, veterinary care, new exhibit and design for all maintenance of the facility.

- Male and female Yellow-billed storks work together to build a nest within 7-10 days.
- Developed a feeding technique where they stir up the water or mud with one foot to flush out prey.
- Typically stay in small groups of 10-20 pairs, rarely as much as 50 pairs.
- Parents regurgitate water over the young to keep them cool and to control their water intake.
